How to choose the right graphics card

Match the GPU to your monitor

For a 1080p 144Hz monitor, an RTX 5060 or RTX 4060 is the sweet spot. For 1440p at high refresh rates, look at the RTX 4070 or RTX 5070 class. For 4K gaming, AI work or heavy video rendering, consider an RTX 5080 or above. See our monitors to build a balanced setup.

How much VRAM do you need?

8GB handles most games at 1080p. 12GB is more comfortable at 1440p, and 16GB or more is worth it for 4K, large texture packs, local AI models and 3D work.

Check your power supply and case

Before you buy, confirm your power supply has enough wattage and the right PCIe power connectors, and that your case fits the card’s length. Entry cards typically need a 450–550W PSU, while RTX 4070/5070-class cards usually need 650W or more. Not sure? Send us your PC specs and we’ll check compatibility.

Brand new vs used

Brand-new cards come with manufacturer warranty (many MSI cards include 3 years, stated on the product page). Used cards are a low-cost way to add graphics to an office PC or a light gaming build.

Which graphics card is best value for gaming in Sri Lanka?

For most gamers playing at 1080p, an RTX 5060 or RTX 4060 (roughly LKR 132,000–190,000) gives the best balance of price, performance and power use.

Will a new graphics card work in my PC?

Most modern desktops with a PCIe x16 slot will work, as long as the power supply and case are suitable. Many small form factor office PCs need a low-profile card or a PSU upgrade. Contact us with your model and we’ll advise.
